I think the lighting in this photo is really cool. The way it shines through the dice is really interesting to me. I also like how it is not a brand new die. It has a used feel to it and you can almost see the group of people playing a game with it.

Wednesday: Critque Me

I chose this photo because I just thought that it was cool. My best friend's younger sister is a dancer and we were in Chicago, I thought that the street looked cool and there were some awesome shadows so I just told her to do something from dance and then i snapped the picture. I had to crop it because the zoom on my lens wasn't enough. I like the way the shadow is and the road adds something to it. If I had the chance to take this photo again I would use a better zoom lens, and when I learn to use photoshop I might increase the contrast to make the shadow a lot darker than it is now.

This photo is just awesome, I wish that I could go somewhere like this just to take these amazing photos. It just shows how cool the ocean can be. Everything is so amazing and full of life and color. I really hope to go scuba diving some day to take photos like this.

I chose this artist because he has a modern flair that I think is really cool. I prefer modern art to more antique art because I think it relates to me better. This photo is really cool to me because I play trumpet, so that hlps me to relate to this specific photo. Also The way that everything is stretched except his face intrigues me. His modern art inspires me to use my camera to show life through a different perspective. He is also really young and has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elvis Costello, Guster, Hall & Oates, Tom Morello and many more. So that inspires me by showing that even at a young age you can still be a successful photographer. If I was to do a project I would use this artist as my example by incorporating his somewhat creepy and strange style into my photos. I would also try to do weird things to make the photograph more visually interesting like he did here.

So, hey, I'm Kaiya. I'm a freshman at PCHS and I'm taking Digital Photography and Imaging 1. I'm taking art because 1. I want to be a filmmaker/photographer 2. I just enjoy art. My whole family is rather artistic and I have been surrounded by art my whole life. I really want to go to Columbia in Chicago for Film and Video. My favorite types of art are digital, pop, abstract, and graphic art. I've never really been into more traditional styles of art and the way i draw is more "interesting" that realistic. I like styles of art that make you think about what is actually going on or what the artist is trying to say.
